Roger Langford

Roger Langford grew up on the plains of West Texas and started drawing horses and cowboys at an early age. His whole life was dedicated to the cowboy way of living and working on ranches with horses and cattle.

Roger's grandfather's place bordered the Double U Ranch near Draw, Texas. This is where his fascination with the cowboys and their way of life began. His Dad would let him ride every calf he could catch. As a teen he started going to rodeos where he competed on the broncs and bulls and drawing pictures for his friends.

Roger later became a pro bull rider in the P.R.C.A. and after a bad injury in 1976 he quit riding bulls and stuck to ranch work. It was during this time that Roger started drawing the life of the rodeo cowboy.

Roger's work has won several awards and his art has been seen both nationally and internationally. Roger Langford is part of a breed of artists who were cowboys first. His work has appeared in many publications including; The New Mexico Stockman,Western Horseman,Southwest Art,The Dallas Morning News, and the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame Art Show. In addition Roger has been an illustrator for True West & Frontier Times magazines and the Wrangler western wear line of clothing.

Mr. Langford was inducted into the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2005 and is also their official artist.
